Providing the Best Video Surveillance to Ensure the Safety of Your Company

March 17th, 2022 by Republic Voice & Data

A primary aspect business owners focus on while running their company is security. While many cyber-security services manage data security, what about the security and safety of the building and the company physically?

In the modern world, while cyber theft is common, it doesn’t mean that old ways of stealing are forgotten. Hence, it is essential to have a proper security system to have peace of mind.

How do you achieve it? Well, read on below.

The Best Way to Protect Your Company from Theft or Fraud

While data is protected through cyber security, the company can be protected through enhanced video surveillance methods. If you are someone who plans on establishing a business and starting a company, putting up a security camera should be your priority. Why so? Well, it has a lot of benefits, some of which are mentioned below.

1. Reduce Risk of Employee Theft and Fraud

In the business circle, corporate theft – quite commonly known as shrinkage is on the rise, leaving identity and cyber frauds far back in the race. This should not come as a surprise because statistics have proven that 75 percent of employees have stolen something from their colleagues in one way or another.

Installing video surveillance cameras is the best approach to avoid any adverse outcomes or disputes among employees.

2. Improve Operation and Productivity

The main goal of all companies is always to move forward and generate significant profits. However, sometimes the laziness of employees and, in general, slow productivity can lead to such profits not happening.

Hence, using video surveillance cameras within workspaces might help in such cases. Companies that install cameras should have an 80 percent better productivity rate.

It’s an instinct. When you know the higher-ups are watching, you tend to complete your tasks fast and not waste time.

3. Provides Adequate Safety Measures

With proper video surveillance, companies can monitor who steps in and out of the building. Hence, companies can monitor not only visitors who come in and go but their employees as well.

Besides this, a wide-angle video surveillance camera will help monitor activities at more considerable distances down the road. This can be helpful in times of unwanted happenings or break-ins within the building.

A video surveillance camera is essential for your employees and the company’s security.

4. Prevent Sexual Harassment

Sexual Harassment in workplaces is more common than any of us can imagine. If we haven’t seen an occurrence or heard about one, it doesn’t mean it has not happened.

According to statistics, around 12,000 sexual harassment cases were reported this year. Considering this is only the registered number and doesn’t include employees who never stood up for themselves speaks of how evident this is.

But why do employees not speak at such times? Well, it is usually because of the lack of proof they have. Having a proper video surveillance camera will come in handy in such times. It can record any indecency in workplaces and help employees who go through such triggering events stand up for themselves with proper proof.

5. Storage and Accessibility

Video surveillance not only records but stores the important footage too. Hence, companies can always look back on the videos and gather essential information in times of need.

This backs up just how vital video surveillance can be for any company.

Three Reasons to Consider Electronic Access Control for your Business

March 17th, 2022 by Republic Voice & Data

Though great measures are taken to protect data and information and all things in the virtual world, more and more frequently there are threats presented to employees’ safety and your business property.   A door access control solution can help deliver peace of mind and a safer working environment by limiting unauthorized access and intruders.
  2. Reporting features can provide a comprehensive audit trail of your building’s traffic.   Access control solutions deliver if HIPAA compliance is required.
  3. Consolidating building security across multiple locations can be overly complex and expensive without an access control solution.   By maintaining one customizable credential for each employee, you can simplify security and reduce security expenses throughout your multi-location enterprise.

Three Benefits of Recording Business Calls

  • Simplifying the onboarding process for new employees. Recorded phone conversations can be a great tool for introducing new employees to your company’s call techniques and styles.
Listening to recorded calls can speed up the process for new agents to get a grip on key elements you want to convey.
  • Assessing employee’s performance. Call recording provides managers with data to quickly identify individual and team performance. Dashboards provide “at – a – glance” analysis.
  • Improve the quality of your team’s customer service. By listening back to calls you can spot the customer requests that caused issues or difficulties for your agents.
Then use that to adapt and refine your team’s responses for the next time those requests come up again.

5 Reasons Why Your Business Needs Video Surveillance

  1. Video surveillance deters crime. Potential criminals will see that you, as business owner, have taken steps to protect your business and your clients.
  2. Video surveillance protects the outside of your business. Take extra care to ensure coverage for back alleys and rear entrances, and any area where people may try to conceal themselves.
  3. Video surveillance increases parking lot safety. Reduce vehicle break-ins and vandalism, as well as increasing the personal safety of your employees and customers as they enter and exit their cars.
  4. Video surveillance is powerful evidence for injury claims. Fraudulent claims such as slip and fall injuries can be extremely costly.
  5. Video surveillance may reduce your insurance premiums. Insurance carriers often look for positives when evaluating a business risk. They, too, look to reduce the cost or frequency of loss.

How Security Systems Can Save You Money on Your Insurance Premiums

One of the most effective ways to save money on your company is by simply installing security systems. Not only can surveillance keep your company safe from accidents, but it can yield a high return on investment for your business. Insurance is one of the most significant expenses a company must take on, so why not try to save money where you can? While it is essential to shop around, you should also keep in mind just how much you can save annually by just having a sound security system installed.

Reducing Insurance Premiums and decreasing risk

The purpose of business insurance is to protect you, your staff, and assets from unforeseen events, such as theft, accidents, vandalism, and other forms of crime. Everything from the people who come in contact with your organization, the building, and possessions are at high-risk and much more accident-prone, without security. Insurance providers spend more on riskier companies and often discount those who are less risky.

The most common types of claims filed are theft and burglary. Employees commit the majority of theft cases, often stealing the most valuable items. Security cameras aid in not only preventing theft, but if a crime occurs, they can also help in loss recovery and catching the perpetrator.

Protecting your property and organization

Reduction in insurance costs happens either over time and through reduced claims and up-front premium reduction or by merely reducing the business’s overall risk. A custom security system assists with both reducing the number of accidents that occur, thus reduces the number of claims and lessens the prospect of dangerous events arising. These events include:

  • Violent acts and theft.
  • Evidence for events where disputed facts can cause questioning of liability such as falls and slips.

An effective security system should be tailored to the needs of the business. Surveillance cameras come with a myriad of features that address points of vulnerability specific to the facilities. Having the right technology and security infrastructure in place is where Republic Data and Voice can help. We offer indoor and outdoor monitoring with real-time streaming, motion-activated sensors, remote notifications, access controls, and more.

Speeding Up Your Network With Fiber Optic Cabling

Your network speed is only as fast as your cabling allows. Using older outdated cables can make the transfer of data slower, which eats up more of your company’s time than it needs to. By switching to better cables for your network, you’ll be able to not only increase its speed but also enjoy the many other benefits it can offer. That’s why we offer the best type of cabling available, Fiber Optic.

Most systems run on older copper cables, which are slower due to the limitations of transmitting data through electrical signals. That method of sending data also has a limited distance of about 100 meters, which pales in comparison to how fiber optics transmit with light. Not only does it travel much faster due to using the photons in light for data transfers, but also its distance can range from 550 meters for 10 Gbps multi-mode and up to 40 kilometers for single-mode cable. The end result of using fiber is that it makes your network not only faster but far more cost efficient when it comes to energy consumption.

The difference fiber optics can have on your network is clear. Why settle for slower speeds at higher costs, when you can call Republic Voice & Data to speed up your network with Fiber Optic Cabling?
